The church with a view, and a friendly welcome. Right at the entrance to the Shropshire Hill National Landscape, St John's is your gateway to exploring this nationally important landscape and heritage.

Sat 1000ft up on the side of Titterstone Clee Hill, St John’s looks out over Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Wales. Drop in any day 9am-5pm to discover the rich heritage of the area while enjoying a good coffee. Our church was built in the 1840's for the families of quarrymen, miners and farmers working this tough landscape. Walkers, cyclists and motorists can still shelter and refresh in this historic building.

The church is open every day from 9am – 5pm.

Parking is available:

  • opposite the church by the cattle grid
  • on the edge of the common beyond the cattle grid when heading west
  • by turning left just before the cattle grid when heading east (park before the telegraph pole).
  • For events, parking will be at Doddington Village Hall 200yds east of St John’s on the south side of the road.

We have an accessible path, and level access into the church. A hearing loop is in use for services.

Come and visit us to find out more about the building, the community, and the industrial and natural history of the surrounding area.
